I've been teaching computer systems, MS Office applications, and ESL (English as a Second Language) to vocational college students as well as primary and secondary school students for the past twenty years, but this is the first time I've created a blog about ESL. As an educator who is passionate about doing research on TESL, I love teaching ESL as well as cross-curricular lessons using ISE (International Standard English–be it Standard British English or Standard American English). Since 2013, I have attended a couple of international conferences on ELT (English Language Teaching) organized by UPM (Universiti Putra Malaysia).

In my home country, college students call me "Encik Zul", which literally translates as "Mr Zul" whereas some members of the public address me as "Cikgu Zul" which means "Teacher Zul" in our local English.

By the way, addressing a "Zulkifli" as "Zul" is common among Malaysians and Malay-conversant Singaporeans.

Teaching a Cross-Curricular ESL Unit on Any Type of Food or Dish

After doing some Internet research on ESL-based cross-curricular activities besides referring to some upper primary school ICT textbooks, I came up with some ideas worth sharing here.
